What changed at Palazzo Couture?

The Shopify CRO engagement repaired unreliable tracking, reduced major page-speed delays, rebuilt key buying journeys, and placed trust information where shoppers hesitated. Conversion rate rose from 0.72% to 1.08%, gross sales rose from $37,323.39 to $43,417.12, and average order value rose from $75.41 to $83.70 over the comparison period.

The situation: interest without enough purchases

Palazzo Couture had real traffic and genuine product interest, but too many shoppers left without buying. Only about 7 of every 1,000 visitors completed a purchase. The team also lacked reliable measurement, which made it difficult to distinguish real conversion problems from reporting noise.

The objective was not simply to make the storefront look different. It was to establish trustworthy data, locate the strongest sources of buyer friction, and improve the path to purchase.

The diagnosis: four connected conversion leaks

Unreliable tracking

Core events and pages were not measured consistently, so the dashboard could not support confident decisions.

Buying journeys built around appearance

The homepage, product pages, cart, and menu looked polished but did not consistently guide ready buyers toward checkout.

Slow storefront performance

Visitors waited about 5.5 seconds for the first meaningful view and 18.5 seconds for the full page load.

App and script conflicts

Multiple background apps added load and introduced script conflicts that affected the customer experience.

The implementation: repair the foundation, then remove friction

  1. Rebuilt measurement: tracking was reconfigured and important events were checked manually.
  2. Improved speed: first view improved from 5.5 seconds to 1.7 seconds, while full load improved from 18.5 seconds to 4.0 seconds.
  3. Reworked key journeys: the homepage, product pages, cart, and menu were rebuilt around helping a ready buyer reach checkout with fewer obstacles.
  4. Strengthened trust: reassurance and proof were moved closer to the moments where shoppers paused or questioned the purchase.
  5. Reduced technical conflict: unnecessary or competing apps were removed from the experience.

The measured result

Conversion rate

0.72% → 1.08%, representing a 50% relative increase.

Gross sales

$37,323.39 → $43,417.12, representing a 16.3% increase.

Average order value

$75.41 → $83.70, representing an 11% increase.

Average bounce rate

Down 4.21 percentage points, a 5.5% relative reduction.

Important context: the comparison period had 8,337 fewer sessions. These numbers document one store’s experience; they are not a promise of identical results for another store.

What this Shopify CRO case study demonstrates

Traffic volume alone does not explain ecommerce growth. Reliable measurement, faster pages, clearer decision-making, and a lower-friction checkout journey can help a brand create more value from the visitors it already attracts.

The useful lesson is the sequence: verify the data, diagnose behavior, prioritize the largest problems, implement carefully, and measure the result. That is the same sequence described in my Shopify CRO services.
